Weekly Photo Challenge: Free Spirit

I spent 6 months in Russia, teaching English. In Samara, I would walk miles along the Volga River. Here is one shot I took at sunset with the light reflecting on the autumn riverbanks and deep blue water. Often it was cloudy and cold in Russia, but on some days, the shone shone bright.

    • Hi! Thanks for contacting me. Search my Blog about some of my Russian experiences here: https://lonnalisawilliams.wordpress.com/category/russia/

I spent a lonely 6 months in Samara, and my Russian boss did not pay me what he promised in my contract, so I advise people against working in Russia where many companies tend to be corrupt and withhold pay. I have a Russian friend whose husband (a computer worker) has not been payed in months. Perhaps your experience will be better, but beware. I even wrote several chapters about my Russian experience in my “Fire and Ice” book (which my former Russian boss bashed on Amazon). You can order the Kindle version for only $2.99 here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007U7KYJ8

I wish you the best. Perhaps you would be better off teaching in Turkey, where I have been teaching for almost 2 years, at private language schools and universities that actually pay pretty well. Let me know what happens 🙂 You can see some of my Turkish photo essays and news articles on “Digital Journal,” such as this one: http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/339986

      God bless you!
